The story

After left the Fundamental plane, an age of light began; 's own history gives it that name. Some of the first sun's lineage became the , raised armies against primordial night, and made Valora as their greatest living weapon. Their last plan sent her after a source of power Valora leaves unnamed in her own account.

She failed, and the Children's spark went out; by her own words the failure had to do with Io, and with the chaos her makers had meant to turn Io's power against. Valora drifted until a wandering young star restored their buried forge and woke her. Phoenix, a young traveling star of the first sun's lineage, fits the reviver's description.

keeps a separate memory of the same darkness: at the dawn of the First Day every creature of night but Balanar perished.

Dawnbreaker's history names the age. Phoenix fits the star that woke her, and the First Day may be the same darkness; neither is said outright.
