The Last Guardian Left the Old Road
Harbinger kept the last watch at an outpost on creation's rim until the Ancients and threats from beyond drew him sunward.
Inai sees Harbinger arrive and asks who now guards the road he left behind.
The story
kept the last watch at an outpost on creation's rim until the Ancients and threats from beyond drew him sunward. recognizes the cost of that journey. He asks whether the old road now goes unguarded and names Harbinger the last guardian.
Those words do not locate the road or identify the evil that may travel it. They do show that Outworld Destroyer's vigil was known to another keeper of distant warnings, and that leaving his post may have opened a route no one else can defend.
Where the thread rests
Harbinger's post stands empty, and Inai has named no one to take it.
