La historia

He remembers banners, kin riding beside him, and pale hands ripping him from the saddle before he and his brothers were thrown into the yawning pit of the to hear the and be consumed. Time, thought, and sanity left them; hunger did not. When the Dirge finally took him he welcomed obliteration, but the Dead God demanded war instead: he rose as the Undying, herald of the sleepless dead, dying and rising so the Dirge never ends.

Whether this is the same Dead God whose Legion razed rests on a shared title and a shared practice; neither account says so outright.
